Dr. Agnieszka Krawczyk-Łebek from the Department of Food Chemistry and Biocatalysis was awarded the Gold Medal at the 16th International Exhibition of Inventions 'IWIS 2022', while the title of Best Polish Invention was awarded to new flavonoid glycosides with potential antimicrobial activity that she managed to obtain using biotransformation.

Professor Tomasz Hadaś, a member of the UPWr Doctoral School Council and chairman of its recruitment committee for the 2021/2022 academic year, admits that increasingly often Doctoral School candidates know what they want both from the school and from their supervisor. Projects of Dr. Karolina Bierowiec, Dr. Agata Mikołajczyk-Martinez, and Prof. Tomasz Hadaś have been awarded in the 13th edition of the National Centre for Research and Development competition, as part of the LIDER programme. The UPWr scientists are to receive nearly PLN 4.5 million for their research.
