Jacek Łyczko, a doctoral student at the Department of Chemistry, UPWr, received a nearly 1.5 million grant from the National Centre for Research and Development to create a new generation of appetite-regulating agents. For this purpose he will use natural and safe fragrances.

Karolina Sobieraj, a doctoral student at the UPWr Doctoral School and a member of the Waste and Biomass Valorisation Group (WBVG) Lead Research Group, is carrying out research at the Department of Applied Bioeconomy in the discipline of Environmental Engineering, Mining and Energy. However, she does not feel that she ended up at the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences by chance.

Dr. Jacek Łyczko's team from the Department of Food Chemistry and Biocatalysis at UPWr is embarking on consumer studies in the final phase of his research on creating a new generation of appetite-regulating agents. The scented prototypes have already been designed: 12 of them to stimulate appetite (e.g., for seniors) and 4 to reduce it, which will interest individuals with obesity. Some of these have already been filed for patent by the university.
