Egyptian scientist Dr. El-Sayed Ramadan El-Sayed Ali has joined UPWr to lead project BioExplor which relates to researching the mycobiome associated with forest plants as sources of novel bioactive compounds, carotenoids and other biopigments.

The BioExplor project, under the leadership of visiting Professor El-Sayed R. El-Sayed is paving new paths in fungal research, with findings that could revolutionize the pharmaceutical and biotechnological industries. This project, based at UPWr and carried out within the BioActiv LRG led by Professor Filip Boratyński, is exploring the untapped potential of endophytic fungi, leading to discoveries that span from potential new antibiotics to the production of natural pigments.

For the second time we have awarded diplomas and medals to the best beers taking part in the Good Beer Academy competition. Jury was headed by Rafał Kowalczyk, an international judge who emphasized a high standard of the competition where over 80 beers were evaluated.

Scientists from three Priority Research Areas adopted at the university – Veterinary Science, Technology and Food Sciences, and Environmental Sciences – submitted 22 project applications from October 2021 to March 2022 in international competitions for research projects under the Horizon Europe programme.

A food tour of Wrocław Known as one of the most picturesque cities in Poland, Wrocław is filled with vibrant colors, busy streets, beautiful nature, a fairy tail facade, medieval structures, tourist attractions that will not be able to be seen anywhere else ( for example the lamplighter that walks the streets manually lighting the street lights as they used to do many years and centuries back), lovely people and even a dark and rich past that has since been a vital part of all history books.
