Natalia Walczak, PhD Eng. is a specialist in optimization of small hydropower plant operations. Her research focuses in particular on the technical, biological and hydraulic aspects of the exploitation of gratings in water structures.
To study the hydraulics of water structures and streambeds with vegetation build-up, she used physical models in the water laboratory, including the Wrocław Hydrotechnical System model. Natalia Walczak's internship was carried out on the basis of an agreement between Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences and Poznań University of Life Sciences. Her research supervisor was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tomasz Tymiński from the Division of Hydrodynamic Modelling at the Institute of Environmental Engineering, UPWr.
