Water treatment through the eyes of Prof. Peter Huck – lecture

On July 5, Prof. Peter Huck from Canada gave a lecture at our University. He shared his experiences in the field of water treatment.

Since 1993 Professor Huck has been the NSERC Chair holder in Water Treatment in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

Professor Huck has over 30 years of experience in directing research related to drinking water treatment. He was in charge of several major projects funded by, among others, the Water Research Foundation. His team's research focuses on assessing the health risks of water users. Their research work also includes issues of optimizing bio filtration and membrane filtration, chemical contaminant removal and conventional treatment performance.

Professor Huck has more than 100 reviewed publications and several hundred conference papers. His academic and consulting experience is internationally recognized. Professor Huck was the first non-American recipient of the A.P. Black Research Award from the American Water Works Association (AWWA), and he also received the prestigious George Warren Fuller Award from the Ontario Water Works Association (a section of the American Water Works Association). He is the recipient of the Albert E. Berry Medal from the Canadian Society of Civil Engineers and the Aquarina Award from the Polish Association of Sanitary Engineers and Technicians and SEEN Sp. z o.o. for the best scientific and research achievements.
