On 2 March 2022, a meeting was held between the Employees and Doctoral Students of our Institute and HM Rector of UPWr, Professor Jarosław Bosy.
On December 8-10, 2021, a delegation from our Institute represented by the Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Krzysztof Lejcuś, Head of the Water Laboratory Maciej Gruszczyński, PhD Eng. and Radosław Stodolak, PhD Eng. made a research visit to befriended units in the Czech Republic and Germany. The visit was associated with the project "Increasing international cooperation by UPWr employees in the field of hydrodynamic modeling."
In the past 2021, our Faculty was visited by high school and technical school students from the Economic and Technical School Complex in Rakowice Wielkie. Thirty-three students, together with the vice-principal Ms. Monika Citow and the physics and chemistry teacher Ms. Justyna Cieślak, got acquainted with the educational offer of our Faculty and the scientific and didactic facilities.
Paweł Tomczyk, M.Eng., a doctoral student from our Institute, has received over 200000 zlotys for his project entitled “Research on changes in water quality in river systems used for hydropower purposes - modeling of changes in the elements of ecological status of waters.” The project, carried out under the supervision of Prof. Mirosław Wiatkowski, PhD Eng. will be financed under the Preludium competition announced by the National Science Centre.
Daria Marczak, a doctoral student from our Institute, received nearly 140000 zlotys for her project entitled Study of biodegradation processes of geotextiles made of natural fibers and additives supporting plant vegetation used in environmental engineering, carried out under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Krzysztof Lejcuś, PhD Eng. The project will be financed under the Preludium competition announced by the National Science Centre and intended for pre-doctoral researchers.
Paweł Lochyński, PhD Eng. from our Institute has received the 2021 “Scientist of the Future” award in the Science for a better life in the future category.
Assoc. Prof. Ewa Burszta-Adamiak, PhD Eng., head of Division of Infrastructure and Sanitary Technologies at our Institute, was named one of the 30 Creative People of Wrocław.
Daria Marczak, M.Eng., a doctoral student from our Institute, has been rewarded in category the Marian Suski scholarship in the field of engineering and technical sciences for her research on the development of a new technology - biodegradable water-absorbing geocomposites (BioGSW).
